Online Deeds

Since April of last year, a beta version of the Remote Service Platform has been made available by the Institute of Registration and Notary Public Services, where it is possible to perform the real estate deed by videoconference.
According to the Minister of Justice, Catarina Sarmento e Castro, the implementation of this service arose as “fruit of the context of the need to use distance communication means imposed by the pandemic and was also an opportunity generated within the difficulty”.

The application is currently operating at 100%, with the completion of online deeds having grown to 21% in the previous year. This platform thus facilitates the process of buying and selling property, making it faster and greatly helps people who live abroad and want to buy a house in Portugal.
