Portugal is the World’s Best Places to Retire in 2020 According to Global Retirement Index

Not surprisingly, it was chosen first as the best place to retire to this year.

But it’s not just for the good weather and geographical beauty that the country has achieved this accolade. This analysis made a comparison of the 44 of the most developed countries and economies around the world. Examining 18 critical factors in the areas like issues of cost of living, benefits offered to retirees, opportunities and the quality of professional healthcare. In addition to analyzing these factors, the study delved into three issues about retirement security risks;

It is the 7th year that the Global Retirement Index study is conducted and Portugal has presented better rankings every year. In 2020 it had a total score of 86 points, followed by Panama with 85.8 and Costa Rica with 85.3.
