46th Volta no Algarve  was attended  by 174 cyclists in Lagos

The first stage, has occurred last Wednesday (day 20), had a route of 195.6 km

The opening stage heads from Portimão to Lagos, only a 10km trip down the coast in reality, but with a 185km loop to the east added on to make it a touch more challenging for the peloton. T

The race has been held since 1960 and has been an ever-greater influx of foreign top-level teams. For example, the winner of the first stage was the Dutchman, Fabio Jakobsen. Now in its 46th edition can be considered perhaps the premier early-season European test.

In this edition, the participants are divided into 25 teams and will go through four more stages:

20 / 2Stage 2 - Sagres ›Alto da Fóia (183.9k)

21 / 2Stage 3 - Faro ›Tavira (201.9k)

22 / 2Stage 4 - Albufeira ›Malhão (169.7k)

23 / 2Stage 5 (ITT) - Lagoa ›Lagoa (20.3k)
